Whilst DS has been away for a few days I’ve been working on colouring some fabrics.
Dyeing on polythene sheets to control the colours (to some extent).
Batik pot with high tech instruments.
Dyes made up and ready to use.
The potential of new cloth (wrinkles give more texture, plus the iron was across the road and life is too short to worry about a few wrinkles).
First few layers of batik. Note the two layers of fabric – rayon and silk chiffon here.
More batik on silk – I was having fun!
A few of the dyeing results;
Batik results to follow.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteoh wow how fantastic!!!
ReplyDeletealways been too scared to try batik
i remember having dyed pieces of fabric on the washing line.................. seems so long ago
Gorgeous, yummy colours. My Mam and I had a lot of fun with batik when I was a teenager. It's an interesting technique that can be as free or as organised as you wish.
