Berwick Open Art Exhibition

I have a piece accepted for the Gymnasium Gallery Open Art Exhibition in Berwick.

The exhibition runs from 23rd October - 11th December, please check their web site for opening times.  My collage was created during the Judy Hooworth class I took at Festival of Quilts in August.

You cannot believe how happy and relieved I am to be back exhibiting and working with stitch again.

Oh yes….. and I recently got this to make dreadlocks for my large Goddesses.
A new skill to master.

New hanging

I am still here working away at different ideas and projects.
Here is a hanging I made recently for a friends wedding present, at the same time I made one for myself.
Its not often I make the same item twice, but if I work them in tandem it feels as if I am working on one large piece and isn't duplication - which is SO tedious.

The last photo is of the wedding present - about a metre in length.

This week I'm really busy putting together a talk on the "Story of SiIk", I've been asked to cover for a speaker who can't make a date - so if you are gong to the Quilters Guild Region 15E I'll see you there - and I'll bring along this my version of this hanging.

The missing link

I forogot to mention that I'm having trouble with those image links - when I transferred it across from the embedded wordpress blog it was fine - until the old web site was taken down and then all the pics were lost :(

Hopefully they will be restored very very soon.

Its not you - its me!

29 September 2010

The blog has moved back to its old home.

I hope everyone has found me here.....
The reason for the move is a new web site - still the same adress

Let me know what you think, I designed the site myself this time, brand new look with new colours.

A good friend of mine recently got married - unfortuntely I wasn't able to get to the wedding myself.
Along with a group of good friends we made a charm ring, more on this later.

Rowan

I have a thing for Rowan fabrics… these came back from the FoQ and will be a(nother) bedspread / throw.

I love playing with the colours.  I think I’m also getting ready for hibernation!

First talk I’ve given for about 12 months – now here did I put the hanging display stand????

Glendale Show, Wooler

Today was show day – I love this day every year.  Apart from the fact that we get trapped at the end of a single track lane and couldn’t possibly try to leave and go the opposite way to the hundreds of cars coming to park in the morning and leave in the afternoon.

Today was sunny – what a change from yesterday when it was cold and lashing with rain.

Now, I’ve got 50 photos recording the spirit of the Glendale show in Wooler.  So this might be a long post!  (It might be two, or even three posts.)

Look how dry the river is today, you can also see how unstable the area is – would you believe “Natural England” will not let “English Nature” (both government bodies) consolidate this stretch and move the stones and gravel?  Mad.  Thanks goodness we now have the flood defences fitted to doors.

The Glendale Show – the largest in north Northumberland, is a real mix of fun fair, agricultural interests and retail therapy.  Along with flowers, jam, very sexy bikes, washed and brushed sheep and various foods.
